| I recently got a 89 S-10 with the 4.3L V6 and automatic 2wd model..This thing has the digital dash on it...For some strange and unknown reason if you have the heater fan on and the heat in either heat or vent, the fuel gauge seems to drop more than when you just have the heat OFF and the fan on it's LOW position...I unplugged the AC compressor thinking the heater control was somehow shorting and causing the compressor to be on along with the heat....No effect...If you leave the heat off, you can run a lot longer before the gauge starts moving..Truck does not have to be filled full of gas, it does this on any position of the fuel gauge...Any ideas????

| what is the temp guage doing? if the t-stat is not funtioning correctly the engine temp drops when you need heat and the engine runs richer cause it's running cold, and needs more fuel
