| I need help!! I swapped my vortec 305 to a crate gm vortec 350, out of a 1996 silverado 1500 4x4. Replaced the fuel injectors but that is it. Everything else I just bolted back up. Now I have been hearing that I need to replace the ecu. But the truck will run fine after a few minutes. At first the truck falls on its face but seems to come out of it after a minute or two and then runs great. Any help would greatly appreciated. |

| I'm thinking that the two motors have different timing and a/f ratios. So, after those couple of minutes the ECU might be doing adjustments to run better. You really should get a ECU for that motor. They're probably only $70 and if you get a custom tune they sometimes sell replacement ECUs. So for $300 you could get the correct ECU and a better performing motor. -Mike Welcome to the site!

| mikes probably right on the af ratios and a custom tune would work great but if you want to do it your self theres a pretty big variety of hand held tuners out there |

| Hey thanks for the info. Can anyone tell me where to get it flashed? Called my local dealer and they said they could and when I took it there they said that they could not. So I am stuck. Thanks again. |
