thank you all so much. What do you think about these: http://mrtruck.net/springs.htm If these are junk or not worth it then... I will start off by looking for 2500 or even 3500 springs...junk yards, salvage yards, etc....I'll also stop by my local truck shop...they do a ton of up grades, lift kits, etc... If those don't pan out, then I'll head over to a few of the trailer places and see what they say. I greatly appreciate your help! Last edited by MikeHulbert; 02-11-2009 at 05:50 PM.

this is something like what i have on mine. 75 brings up an excellent point though that the overload springs can bring the height up of the truck. like he said, you can do away with the block or put a thinner block in there. i imagine that 2500 and 3500 springs versus overloads is about the same. the new springs probably would be better versus an aftermarket add on product, but from my standpoint, i cant really see more of a benefit from either or. but someone here might have a differance of opinion.

One of my friend pulls a 6000lb enclosed trailer with his 1/2 ton. He put in air bags and loves them. Take the squat out when he needs and back to the softer ride for daily driving. Air bags have been on big rigs for years. They are a proven technology as are leaf springs. It is just easy to get both worlds with air bags. Just my 2 cents. ( I am looking at them for my k2500)

| Do you have a local spring shop? If you want to change the springs they can make what you want, set it up for lighter when empty and heavy in the lower set for hauling

i would suggest that you get a set of the load leveling air bags. that way you can have an even ride all the time and its not such a rough ride whenever you dont have a load. the air bags aren't going to be a bad choice and the compressor and such would be relatively small for it.

You do not have to have an on board compressor. That is just a luxurious way to do it.
