| Rocker stud anyone know any good way to install screw in rocker studs with the heads still on the motor? I need to know what size and etc is best to use. does anyone have a video of this process?

| i would Say no as there is no room around head to do it , also i would think you would want a machine shop to tap them straight , after all there is a lot of tension on the stud . just my own opinion for what it's worth . (nothing) ![]() shd |

| I agree with SHD, major machine work should be done in a controlled environment with someone who is skilled in the process Did you try the oversize stud and hot relash??

| studs no ! the head's have to be removed !or you will fill the engine with metal shaving's and chip's . why do want them ,are the stock press in's puling ? |

| they make a tool that screws into the spark plug hole , use a air hose to kept the valves closed , are you running a big cam ? never herd of it on a stock engine .shd |

| yep, running a big cam, anyways its pissing me off fixing to yank both heads and just have them screw ins put in im pissed

| studs how many are pulling ?all the same one's ? they do make over size press in stud's .but the hole has to be reamed .if it's only 1 stud that does it mr. gasket used to make screw in stud's that had a shoulder on them .what engine is it ? if you are going to try it ,and only one or two are doing it ,use grease on ,and around the tap to catch the chip's .clean it good with brake clean on a cloth and clean out the threads and use red loctite on the thread's .http://www.jegs.com/p/Mr.+Gasket/747114/10002/-1 Last edited by wild bill; 02-12-2009 at 12:35 PM. |
