4x4 engauges but wont turn front wheels

1994 Chevy 2500 454
The 4x4 does not work it kept blowing fuses after crawling under it i found some broken wires. Now it does not blow the fuse anymore but still no 4 wheel just replaced the actuator in the front diff. still nothing could it be the sensor in the t case? Im sure this as been talked about many times but couldent find it. thanks

My 87 Suburban did the same think once when I took it out 4x4ing well I placed Warn locking hubs on it and I never had a problem again. 75K30 would be the one to ask he has a some BAD 4x4 rides you should view his video that he made it's awesome.

welcome to the forum
there are some posts on 4wd checking! some simple questions and checks.
Is the 4x4 light come on?, if not it's power supply. Key on, lever in 4wd, check for power at actuator connector, no power, trace wires back to ball switch on tranny, pull connector off, check for power, if power present, jump it with a piece of wire, check for power again at actuator, if power present, plug in connector check for 4wd(light on council should light). this is an indication the ball switch is bad
if no power at tranny connection, trace back to fuse box, recheck fuses and wires.
l have jumped the wire to the tranny switch with a rocker switch mounted next to the lever, as after replacement the ball still did not connect all of the time.
good luck it's simple and easy to fix with a little thought, but time consuming

Say Leo my 4x4 light came on that's why I took it in some deep mud and that's when I found out that the front tires weren't turning so that's when I placed the locking hubs and it took care of the problem good thing that my Burb had a locking rear-end because it's what took me out. Not like my GMC truck if one wheel spins it's staying there im getting caught up on some things so hopefully im going to have my Auburn posi unit put on I wish I could find some 3.73 gears for it REAL cheap.

is your 4x4 mecanical or is it electronic. cuz the electronic ones the transfercase has a moter on it. the moter has a shaft that moves the gears well for 4x4 high its just a plastic ovle peice the 4x4 low is a big metal peice idk how to explain it. this may be the problem put in 4x4 high try to turn the frunt driveshaft if it turns theres your problem if it dont then its somehting in either the runt acuator wireing. witch you could just hard wire it to your batterie. not that hard just make sure you through a fuse in it and make sure to shut it off.

welll on the the frunt axle part yes there are two wires that come out of it. and right after it comes out it should go to a plug. just un plug it and take it out. hook it straight up to a 12v jumperbox wate a bit and see if it moves if it dosnt then theres your problem just switch that with a new one and your ready to go. like i tryed to say befor i would check the transfer case also. just put it in 4x4 high and grab the frunt driveshaft give it a twist. if id dosnt fully rotate then its just the frunt axle actuator if it dose rotate then there is something in the transfer case that is mest up too.

If it's the one by the transfer case thats the switch that is supposed to supply power the the actuater in the front axle, the one in the front axle pushes a lever in the differential to engage the wheels. You can manually push on theat lever to confirm the fron diff is ok. go thru my posted steps and check for power, it's the cheapest. the resister runs about $125 and the switch $15
