| UGH.... another water leak on the burb. i've got a sneaking suspiscion its the intake makifold gasket. i see the water dripping on the exhause pipe near the back of the engine. drivers side. but bc the oild pan/ tranny, its hard to see the engine there. any ways to check

| did you ever purchase a cooling system checker?? save a lot of headaches. pump it up cold and start fixing!

| my dad has one he told me. but i thought all tht does is tell me if i have a leak. i know i have a leak bc its dripping off the back of the motor. i just cant tell where from. i was wondering if there is anyway to isolate where the leak is bc i cannot see it

| pump it up cold and start feeling around, if you find a wet spot, wipe it and see if it gets wet again, like looking for a leak in a water pipe.

| i got ya. i'm afriad its on the very back of the engine which makes it hard to see and feel. nother question. will the water passages in the block be preasurized, bc that t-stat will be closed, correct?

| T-stat would stop flow but pressure is from both sides of it. As if the t-stat was in a hula hoop, blocks circle. Doesn't matter though where you add pressure to hoop. |

| if your leak is on the back your gasket could be junk. if it leaks form the front you probably have a water pump going bad. who knows. take it apart some saturday and figure it out. i would help but im in wyoming |

| i'm almost positive it is the gasket. happened on the silverado about 2 yrs ago. i'm a master at the water pump, can do it in 30 minutes MAX. heck i've done about 10 between the 2 chevys
