Motor build question. I;m thinking about building my tbi 350 I want to push out some good horse and real good low end out of it. I have a set of edelbrock aluminum heads I think they are 64cc heads. I also have the harland sharp roller rockers for it. I would like to get 400 to 450 Hp out of it. Any suggestions?

bore and stroke it. keep the 64cc heads and have them fully ported. along with the rockers that you have, select a good cam. this selection is either going to make or break your setup so choose carefully. aim for around 270. this should all keep you in the 89 pump gas range. as for the TBI, you will have to get the ECM reprogrammed so that it can compensate for all these changes. if done right, this should get you in the low 400s. if you choose to go to natural aspiration, move up to a 750 or 800 cfm carb. this is about all i can think of at the moment. hope this can give you a couple of ideas.

i agree with bradrhale in the choosing of the cam. pick a nice cam for that engine. if your lookin to put some money into the setup i would just build a vortec for the truck. my moms tahoe is a 96 and i outran a 94 chevy with a TBI built engine and moms truck is stock. moms truck is just well maintained and is quick. i wish i could find a wrecked vortec truck and put al the computers and such into my 79. there roller cams are a monderful invention.

When I'm ready for the cam I was going to call comp cams and see what one they recommended for it. I'm going to go all roller with it when I do the motor just don't want to mess with all the computer.

if you dont plan on messing with the puter, your cam selection has been seriously cut in half. your ecm can take a cam change but not much of one. tunes are not that bad and costs no more than most of your mid range power upgrades.

| you'll never see those numbers if you don't change out the PROM. the motor will run like poo if you leave the computer stock. i can get a video of CHEVY IROK to prove it.

Didn't mean it like that. I know I'll have to get the tbi computer programmed I just meant messing with the vortec computer.
