350 belt without ac

my ac on my truck locked up so now i have to get a belt that has no ac... ive gone every where trying to find a belt ive found one but it was a 4 ribbed one ...... so what can i do can i use the 4 ribbed one or what plz helpp

what kind of setup do you have? serpentine? what year?

serpentene has air pump alt. p/s 88 chevy 350

Here is a crazy idea........How about fixing the comressor? Since it is locked up, is it the compressor or just the clutch?
If the compressor locked up, then disaengage the clutch and the compressor will no longer turn.
If the clutch is locked up, then your a/c is on all of the time, so this should be a little problem.
Exactly where are you having the trouble? Clutch compressor or both?

i guess both, the bearings are complety gone from the pulley

Were do you live? do you have a local shop that specializes in belts and hoses?

i live intulsa oklahoma and ive tried all day to find belts and get them to fit but no luck so i am going to have the ac rebuilt..

in ok i'm sure the air will be needed, if you have an old belt put it around the pullus you need, cut it to length, then take it to a belt store and have them match the length, the width and depth arte the same as the origina

leo you said it before me the only way to get around the belt is to do that because if it is not in the computer then they dont know how to get you a belt that will fit LOL at least around here that's how the parts stores are.

i did that with my belt and we thought we had it but just never would werk.....went to auto zone 10 times
