1949 brake drums

1949 1 ton chevy 3800 panel truck
It looks like us 1 ton panel truck owners are about to run out of rear and front brake drums (new or used). Any suggestion? Otherwise we are heading toward a dead end.

you did not mention if this is a full resto or mod truck. if it were mine and this was mod, i would switch out the drum brakes and move to a disc brake design. if resto, you might check into different mountings for a newer, more popular drum brake setup.

Last time i checked i could get drums at NAPA for my 3600, dunno how different it is from the 3800 series. Can`t remember the size off the top of my head right now....
