A lifter once came out of where it sits on my GTO once what happen the rocker arm nut came loose which let the push rod come loose and that's what caused it to get out of place then in time I had to replace them all because they would bleed out I learned a lot at a young age with that GTO but I loved it. I hope it's an easy fix.
Good luck! GMC

i just got it back to town, i dont think its as simple as a lifter simply fell out of place. he took it on a nice long ride up and down hills with a v6 pulling big loaded closed in trailer, not too mention, this engine has lots of miles on it. i think it just gave out. it cranks and runs, doesnt sound terrible, but definatel some knocking going on. going to get in there tomorrow probably with a stethescope like thing to try and pinpoint where the sound is coming from. it doesnt even run rough, not oil pressure change and no overheating........ on another note, the ex saw on my facebook where i'm going to Auburn and she apparently thinks i'm going up there to party which is killing her bc she was blowin up my phone, to wit i ignored, score one for the good guys
