All I can suggest is to check for a restricted exhaust.

I didn't know 305's have any power to begin with, it may be normal. OK, I know, not funny. How many miles? Check EGR is a good suggestion. Since it happened the way you say it did, is it possible it jumped time? Maybe time for chain and gears. I guess one way to tell would be use a timing light. If your marks are way off, then you pretty much know the chain jumped time. It will still run a tooth or 2 off, but not very well. If it is the chain, it should have problems ideling too and only want to run at higher rpm. I'd say if it idles OK, this is not your problem, but the same goes for stuck EGR too.

True, if it still has OEM Cat, you sure won't be wasting your money even if that is not your problem.

I thank everyone who gave me help. They were all good things to check. And the 305 joke is true, but the price was good a few years ago.I check the fuel pressure and it was ok and pulled the fuel filter.I open it up and it was ok,on dirt.Put in a new one and started it up,no change. So i sprayed the Q carb with choke and carb cleaner, some in the vent tube and started it.It ran a little better. So i sprayed a lot down the vent tube and let it sit far a long time. This time when i started it ,it ran good for a 305.I think the float is sticking. After look over the Q carb real good, the throttle shafts are lose and its in bad shape.Time for a new carb.If anyone know of a good carb that helps with good gas milage,Let me know.Once more i would like to thank everone for the help.
