2000 Chevy Silverado w/ Mysterious Noise I have a quick question for someone that knows entirely more than I do when it comes to trucks. I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado Extended Cab Short Bed. She has just over 80,000 miles and has been taken care of very well getting her oil changed every 3,000 and just recently had her transmission fluids flushed. The problem is a wierd vibration that I'm feeling. When I make a turn, I hear a noise that sounds like something is shifting in the bed of my truck, but there is nothing there. It happens when I turn either direction. Furthermore, when I'm at a stop light in drive but with my brakes compressed; she makes the same noises as if I was turning, but louder and the back of the truck shakes. When I switch to idle, the noise and vibrations stop. When I shift back into gear, it begins vibrating again. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

| Maybe have a quick peek underneath and see if they maybe left a transmission mount bolt loose or never put it back in!

Is that the same as the "carrier bearing?" Someone was saying maybe that was lose which is allowing my drive shaft to shift? Does that sound about right?

Welcome to the forum boomschoom. You said " just recently had her transmission fluids flushed " - if this was by a shop, I would sure be right back there to let them tell you.

if he is stopped at a redlight and it is doing this, yall can rule out a ujoint, carrier bearing, halfshaft, jackshaft, or noshaft problem. problem has got to be with that tranny. check to make sure all the bolts are still there and tight attaching the tranny to that crossmember and if tight, take it back to where you had the service done and ask them what they did to mess up your truck.
