 | ha! same problem i had! i rebuilt my 4l60e and ended up with the same problem. kept going into limp mode after it was up to operating temp. shut it off, let it cool, fire it up, 1,2,3,4 torq coverter. as soon as it gets hot and up to oper. tmp, 2nd gear only. shut it off let it cool, . rinse and repeat. wtf right? nothing mechanical, otherwise it would be in 2nd gear all the time... took it to the dealer. flashed the computer. problem solved. i modded my valve body with updates and such. also did a healthy shift kit installation (slams 2nd gear hard enough to lay blackies...  but, this was ODBII, yours is pre 1996. but i figured i'd shoot the personal fixit experience. 96 1500 z71 350 vortec |
