ABS Problems

Hi Forum!

Been a while, but here it goes... recently, my 2000 K2500 reg cab 5.7 has been braking VERY strangely, if not scary! If a "get on" the brakes, I hear an audible "bang" and the ABS seems to kick in and the truck takes much more time to stop. I am 100% sure I'm not breaking traction, as this happens on dry pavement. It does NOT happen with stop and go traffic braking. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks forum.... you ALL rock!!

I think checking the brakes all around would be a good place to start then
