| All I can suggest is that you go to www.motivegear.com and use their domestic transmission guide. |

| I have not heard anythnig bad any of the manuals in the 90's. I think your trans may be better known as a NV or New Venture trans though. I am not real up on the manuals since Auto are so plentiful and cheap to build. I like manuals though. In the day I played with Munices until I got sick of breaking driveshafts and rearends. Then finally I broke 2nd gear in the M21 and converted to T350 and been mostly automatic since I realized they were so much cheaper, and broke less parts. Manuals certainly have some advantages, along with the disadvantages. My daily driver is a rice burner, not proud to mention by the way, but it very very cheap on gas. It is a manual only because I WILL NOT have a 4 cyl with an auto trans. Auto trans do rob your torque and hp to a certain degree, and with a 4 cyl, I'm not willing to give up any of the hamsetes in the wheel to an auto trans. Also being I swallowed my pride to drive a ricer for mpg, I want all the mpg I can get. I had a 93 C1500 X Cab 350, and I had a 95 C2500 standard cab, the light duty 6 lug wussy 3/4 ton with a 350, both with manual trans and I never had a problem with either. Of course I only had each of them for 10-12 months and they were still basically new when I traded them in, so I can't speak for longevity of those. Oh, and I had a 95 2500HD 4x4 x cab with manual. I only had that one for about 6mo. It was that junk turbo diesel with injector pump issues so I got rid of it quick, but no probs with the trans. That was a 5 speed one with the granny low. |
