All I can suggest is that you go to www.motivegear.com and use their domestic transmission guide.

I am on that link you sent ...don't really see any useful info on the site...not sure where this domestic tranmission guide is that you say to look in...can you maybe point me in the right direction...I should say that my tranny is fine right now...I was just wondering about it for future reference...I have never heard of getrag, until couple of months ago

gm has been using getrag trannys in some applications since the early 80"s that I know of.

Apologies. It was there a few months ago. Now I can`t find it either.
The only mention of your application is a couple of shafts.
Apologies again for bum steer.

Also some of the stoutest front wheel drive transmissions known to man found in 80's and 90's Chrysler turbos.

I have not heard anythnig bad any of the manuals in the 90's. I think your trans may be better known as a NV or New Venture trans though. I am not real up on the manuals since Auto are so plentiful and cheap to build. I like manuals though. In the day I played with Munices until I got sick of breaking driveshafts and rearends. Then finally I broke 2nd gear in the M21 and converted to T350 and been mostly automatic since I realized they were so much cheaper, and broke less parts. Manuals certainly have some advantages, along with the disadvantages. My daily driver is a rice burner, not proud to mention by the way, but it very very cheap on gas. It is a manual only because I WILL NOT have a 4 cyl with an auto trans. Auto trans do rob your torque and hp to a certain degree, and with a 4 cyl, I'm not willing to give up any of the hamsetes in the wheel to an auto trans. Also being I swallowed my pride to drive a ricer for mpg, I want all the mpg I can get. I had a 93 C1500 X Cab 350, and I had a 95 C2500 standard cab, the light duty 6 lug wussy 3/4 ton with a 350, both with manual trans and I never had a problem with either. Of course I only had each of them for 10-12 months and they were still basically new when I traded them in, so I can't speak for longevity of those. Oh, and I had a 95 2500HD 4x4 x cab with manual. I only had that one for about 6mo. It was that junk turbo diesel with injector pump issues so I got rid of it quick, but no probs with the trans. That was a 5 speed one with the granny low.
