Where do you keep your spare?

I just put 285's on my truck and want to carry a spare of the same size, be nice right. Well the dam thing will not fit uder the bed of my truck where the 265 is. Do you guys just toss them in the back or is there another way to carry a 285 under the box?

don't carry one, even the 245 was too tight with the hitch and duals in the way. my tread is deep enough that the one time i did pick up a nail, it didn't make it past the meat of the lug.

only had one flat in my life and that was from vandalism in a rival town when i was in highschool.

i dont have an equal size spare either. mine is the standard 245 but can be used in an emergency. i can make it to a tire place on a smaller tire. only problem i might have is a tall enough jack. not sure the factory scissor jack will work.

I have a dually, so I have 2 spares already running.

I don't have a spare either, and like mud said, never had a flat. The truck didn't have one when I bought it, but I'm assuming my 315s wouldn't fit underneath anyways.

I agree, keep decent tires on it, and you shouldn't have a problem, but for just in case, you will have to use the smaller one. Been there one time myself. And I was not sure about my limited slip diff and tearing it up, knowing I had to make it 80 miles to get home, I put a front tire on the back, and the spare on the front, so I kept the same size tires in the back and and not wear out my limited slip if it were the clutch type.

Matching wheel & tire, laying in the bed. I like the matching combo so I can get more life from the tires. Just include all 5 in your regular tire rotation & get an other year or two worth of use .

They make a drop braket for the spare tire carrier to allow for the larger tires. You can pick it up at www.roughcountry.com, www.autoanything.com as well as others. Jumping up the way you did is not an uncommon upgrade and parts are availible for this. I put 305's on mine replacing the 265's and I also needed the drop braket to keep the full sizer under my bed.
