Heater question

I have an 01 1500 4x4, when you have the vent on and turn up the heat you cannot turn it back down untill you turn off the truck, let it set for about 15 mins then restart. But the catch is I need to have the center dial all the way down on cold because again it will only go up, get warmer, and cannot be turned down, get colder.

What the **** is causing that?

sounds like the actuating motor for the blend door

Is that a high dollar fix?

last one i bought was 50 or 60. that was about 5 or 6 months ago.

easy way to check is to locate it, turn the key to the on position, not start, and turn the dial back and forth slowly. you should be able to hear it turning.
