| IFS conversion I'm lifting a 2000 Chevy 1500 when I get back from Afghanistan. Going up to 39 inch super swampers. I know the IFS has to go, I'm putting in a Dana 60, but what are my options as far as converting over. I know there's got to be more than just one company that makes IFS conversion kits. |

| Welcome to the site: Which conversion kit are you considering? Do your plans include leaf springs or a coil / coilover set up? |

| There are a few different kits out thers that I know of, but they aren't much different in design.... most use leaf springs, I personally havent found any that us coils or coil over springs, BUT i could be wrong.. I haven't searched for anything like that...... |

| If you don't want your truck to look ODD, remember this, A Dana 60 is about 6 inches wider than a Corporate rear end. A Dana 44 is about 4 inches wider. |

| I'm doing leaf springs. The reason I ask about the conversion kit, is the kit that was recommended to me, was a brand called "Cage" or something like that, and I can't even find that one for sale. Also, the price that was quoted me on that was like $2300. For the parts only. Off Road Direct has them for like $700. So I'm just trying to figure out exactly what my options are. Also, the Dana 60 is also what was recommended to me (Still learning a lot), I was thinking a Dana 40 or 44 for the front end, and a Dana 60 for the rear end, but I was told it would be better just to go with two 60's. |

| Cage makes some good stuff. But, I have to ask what do you intend to do with the truck? WHat kind of off road use will it see. I ask becuase a lot of people perfrom this swap that does not need to. Some of the newer IFS lift kits are good and strong. You might get the performance you are looking for just by lifting what you have already and spend less money to do it.

| I'm building a straight mud truck. I'll do some trails and stuff, but pretty much just mud bogs. I know I could lift it with the IFS, but I want the straight axle because eventually I might go higher than the 39's. I really just wanna know whether Cage is really that much better than the other options. Whether it's Sky Offroad, ORU, or whatever. |

| They all have good and bad points. That is like any thing else out there you buy. Cage does make good quality parts and they are engineered very well. I cannot say if they are better or not though.
