Front differential problems

When I pulled out my front differential on my 03 1500hd, to get at my oil pan, I found a few issues. I am trying to figure out if and how I should deal with them.

The driver side axle to cv joint attached to a nice shiny plate on the differential. On the passenger side I wasn't so lucky, the diff plate and axle/cv were rusted together and required a good beating to get apart. There appeared to be a little leak on that side of the diff also.

The truck has no problem in 4wheel(other than an occasional service 4 wheel message that goes away with a restart), no noises, and no great loss of fluid. But with it all ripped out anyways, if I need to repair, I should do it now.

Is rust in this area a big deal? Is there a way to fix these to mounting surfaces without replacement parts (surface rust and about 60%)

TIA for the help

dont worry about the rust they all do it as far as the leak if u havent noticed the leak on the ground then ur ok just keep an eye on the fluid level
