Tucker is on a distinguished road
short to ground...

I have a '98 chevy s-10 2.2.
It has a short to ground...if left alone it runs the batterydown.
The idiot lights on the dash blink at various times...no rhyme or reason.
I have a quick disconnect on the battery as a temp fix.

I was told that there could be an issue with the ingnition switch?
I assume he acutally ment the keyswitch on the steering column.

does anyone know if this is a common pblm with this truck?
or is there something else that could be causing this to check.
third, how would you troubleshoot to make sure it is the keyswitch?

Thank you,

Tucker

i guess one way to isolate a problem like this is to remove a fuse at a time and see which fuse stops the battery drain. a multimeter would be a great tool to have to diagnose this with if you dont already have one.

Exactly. Also disconnect alternator and check for drain then.
The ign switch is the electrical switch not the key switch.
