454 ignition wire diagram.

<SECOND EDIT> OK it's working well now. #8 wire was not seated well at the plug and #1 was not seated well at the cap.</SECOND EDIT>

Guys & Gals,
I think I screwed up durring an electrical tune-up. Specifically I think I have the wires on the cap one post CCW from where they go. (40 degrees timing retarded)

Can you look at this picture and tell me if it is correct for a 1995 7.4 liter?

The idle was a little rough before I did the plugs, wires, cap, and button. Now it's way down on power.

<EDIT>

Also, is there supposed to be any sort of weatherstrip or seal between the base of the breather and the top of the throttle body?

</EDIT>

Naw I didn't move the dist even a little. I just made sure that I labeled each wire at both ends and secured it well as I did them so there would be no need to go back over them...yeah right! Maybe it was the old "air spring" action of new boots that weren't burped and they pushed back up? No idea but sure enough the engine runs smooth on 8 and has much less power on 6 lol

It's been a while since I've had a carb on a car or truck. The TBI is, as you know, shaped like a carb and the round breather sits on it and is held down with the screws and wingnuts that hold the cover over the air filter. I wondered about the seal because it seemed that on my old Grand Prix with a carb that there was a little thin weatherstrip looking piece under the breather that would seal it to the carb. I'm replacing all the hoses and thought my efforts would be in vain if the breather let unfiltered air in from the bottom.
