Air compresser locked up 92

Tne air compressor clutch, on my 92 chevy truck with a v6, locked up and burnt the belt off. Will a compressor from a 91 caprice with a 305 fit the truck?

What about bypass pullys?

Thanks,
Steve

did you try unplugging the clutch to confirm it is not the compressor. the clutch can be replaced independant of the compressor

I took it off the truck..but did not take it apart..the pully was locked up..how does the clutch come off? The pulley got so hot it burned the belt into..

the famous pancake compressor. these are relatively cheap at any parts house however, if you want the warranty, you will have to buy the acumulator. the compressor, if memory serves me correctly, is about a c note. the accumulator is about 65 which puts you at 200 by the time you buy the freon and everything else.
leo, i dont know if these can be removed or not. i know that they can on the later football style compressors that they used in the later 90s.
