| too much lift i have a 04 silverado 2500 diesel. Right now it has 6 in lift and 35 in mud boggers. It was set up to travel off road, now i am moving and will use it more for towing. With this setup i have to use a 8 in drop hitch which cuts down on my capability to handle bigger loads and gooseneck trailers seem out of the question. I am willing to drop it a few inches and get smaller tires, but that might be a little cost prohibitive. Has anybody out there faced a similar dilemma? What was your solution? |

| go to a weld shop and have them create a heavy duty drop hitch for you, and reinforce your hitch as needed

| If you are going to use a 5th wheel or weight distribution hitch, you are pretty much SOL. Maybe find someone who would want to trade their stock parts for your lift kit (if that's possible). |
