skipped tooth.

the 4.3 has a chain. Wouldnt a skipped tooth cause the computer to throw a code? Knock sensor or something at least? And why would it change after I unplugged the tps and plugged it back in?
I would think that it wouldnt idle very good if it jumped a tooth.
I know my old honda did that and it ran like absolute poo.
The motor only has 60,000 on it, I thought the chains in those things lasted at least 100,000.
The truck has always been well maintained, it was my father in laws before I got it and he always ran mobil-1, and I have always kept up on maintenance. The plug wires are only a year or so old, the plugs are the same, and still have sharp edges all the way around the electrode. They are also a wonderfully toast colored shade of brown. no buildup. The cap and rotor are about 2 weeks old.

the gas is fairly new, I put gas in it about a month ago, about half a tank. It was almost a daily driver before it developed its issue.

fuel pressure.

I dont have a way yet. I am hoping to get a gauge today, if I can fond one. I dont know If I will be able to though, and I am not sure how to splice it into the fuel line without it leaking. I know that the system should run at about 14 psi, and I dont need gas leaks.

fittings

I browsed summit a bit, and looking at what they have for fittings and such, I think I could hook up a gauge right next to the throttle body, under the air cleaner. What size and thread are the fittings on these trucks? I could order what I need today, but I dont know the fitting size and thread pitch.

My truck is tbi and I dont have a valve on my fuel line to attach a gauge to. I wish I did then I could just buy one of the standard gauge sets for universal apps. I have to put a gauge inline.
