Apparently These are the specs on this crate motor I got. Actually more hp and torque than I thought. Notice that is with headers, Performer and Holley 600 Vac Secondary I'd imagine. With the stock intake, exhaust and carb, its 260. If I get it together and actually have that 290hp and 326ft lbs, I'd be more than satisfied for an older non computer, carbed, basically stock engine. I might be getting that torque out of my 454 3/4 2wd truck, but I sure not getting no 290hp out of that sled.

12499529 G.M. Performance Parts 290 H.P. 350 Crate Engine $2070
8.0:1 compression ratio.

290 HP @5100 rpm

326 ft. lbs of torque @ 3750 rpm

( These Numbers obtained with a Holley 600 CFM Carb,1 3/4" headers , and an Edelbrock Performer intake part # 2101) (1 5/8" headers will work fine with this engine. the 1 3/4" headers listed above were dyno headers used for the test)

Intake Duration @ .050"- 222 Exhaust Duration @.050"- 222 Lobe Seperation-114
Cylinder Heads- part # 14034808 casting #33417369

1.94" Intake valve , 1.50" Exhaust Valve 76cc Combustion Chamber 7 Bolt style Exhaust Flange

Standard 85' and prior intake manifold bolt pattern. Perimeter bolt style Valve Covers.

This head is very similar to the old #882 castings from the 1970's

What I need to do, is take the parts I am going to use off the truck I am not going to use, and start selling them off. That will help with the finances too. Where I am stuck is, for the ChevrOldslet Street/Strip truck, I can either use my other nice 3/4 ton chassis or one of my 1/2 ton chassis. Not sure which way to go for sure as of yet. The smart choice to race would be the lighter, lower to the ground 1/2 ton. Also less expensive for suspension and brake parts. But I like the strength of the 3/4 drivetrain and I won't be breaking it. The 80 GMC will be one to go and parted out. So I will have the 84 3/4 ton 2x4, this 85 1/2 4x4 and then the ChevrOldslet will be registered as an 81 Chev 1/2 ton 2x4, just not sure if its going to be on the 1/2 chassis the cab is on now, or if I am moving it to the 86 3/4 ton chassis. At least I have made up my mind on the year models. All are going to be 81-87 body style and away from the slopped dash and 1 piece hood/cowl that bend the hood.
wat all do u have i may be interested

It may be eaiser to tell me what you need and if I have it. I have not moved enough parts around yet to see for sure I am going to have left over. I know for sure I will have a 81 1/2 ton frame leftover, and a 86 cab without anything left over. No rust that I can see with exception of surface rust where the paint burned off. Bummer really, it WAS a pefect cab until the truck had a fire, so the paint was burned off the firewall, now its sufrace rusting. Still could be cleaned off and probably self etching primer job and be good as new again and ready to build.

Well, I may luck out. I was not going to pull this motor apart but curiosity killed me and I did. Did the fingernail test. I did not feel any ridge with execption of 2 spots in 2 cylinders and its very very minimal. I still see crosshatching in the cylinders, so it may survive with a re ring and valve job or bolt on my 68 truck heads with small valves and smaller combustion chamber that will raise compression a bit. Afterall, its intent is to be a budget motor to get by until better days.

Right now its a GM Corp 10 bolt w/ wussy 2.08's. I have the 14ff 10.25 and 4.10's installed in the backyard with springs. Not sure if I am going to just bolt in the rear end on the current springs, or if I am going to change the springs hangers off my donor 3/4 and install either the 3/4 springs or the 1 ton springs. It is a open diff right now, but I inted to do the Detroit Locker things, and i have to wait til I get either a Dana 44 or Dana 60 with 4.10's before I do that swap. Mr JW has the front diff I could use ready to bolt in, but he's just dangling carrots with it. That's why he's not my favorite moderator anymore.
