| 94' chevy 2500 TBI Upgrade Questions Alright. I used to have a 96' suburban, learned everything i could about the vortec engine and now i have a TBI. What I am wanting to do is as follows: Rebuild bottom end to 355 Change heads to 64cc vortec heads(can i use any heads that are considered vortec heads and they still bolt up to my block?) Change rockers to 1.6 Vortec to Tbi intake(or could i go carbed intake with a TBI adapter Plate)???? Bore intake and throttle body Headers, y pipe, high flow catalytic converter and a muffler with a bite Electric fans Cam?????? Really dont know on this one, so many people have said it is so hard to get an aftermarket cam to bolt up in a tbi motor. ANy suggestions or has anyone done this successfully yet??????????? One of the main questions is my EGR vavle. I have seen where some people have totally cut the EGR off in the computer, but will that throw up codes. I need this truck to pass inspection in Texas. Can i cut it off in the computer with a custom chip or tune? Let me know what you guys think and give me some suggestions here. I am wanting to get atleast 300hp. Would love to exceed that if possible. |

| First of all welcome to the forum and hello fellow TEXAN. Where abouts in Texas central/coast/upper/lower/west? It is hard to find a cam for a TBI engine my buddy got one from Summit Racing also when you place those type of rockers on your heads one has to do some drilling that's all I know about that I bet some other member here can help with that. Good luck! GMC |

| I'm in Houston. Yeah i expect to have to do some modifications with this motor. I think if i call summit they can tell me which ones will work since they deal with them all day. |

| I think most of the later 5.7s are roller. don't quote me but 90%, maybe 85% well never mind the percent I think they are.
