I seen on Horse Power TV that one can use a 170' stat and it won't affect your gas mileage like I wrote above.

back when chips started the engine temp was critical to it's funtion....today I think the programmers are a better way to go as they control the funtions with what is there, you have an 03, check out a bullydog gas tuner and what you need to do to make it funtion

okay so i got the 160 and installed the chip. my engine ran at about 200 before the installation and now the temp varies from 175 on the highway to 200 when im driving slow does this sound right or should it be running cooler than that?

Tstat won't make it cooler, that's the radiator's job. Tstat sets min temp.

Jon when I run super unleaded in my truck which isn't very often it wakes up my chip and engine big times because that's what I should be running but im cheap. You might try it out.

Okay yeah because when i first installed it i was running it on regular unleaded, but i put premium in it after. i think im going to go back to unleaded because i didnt see much differance but after a while of running it on that i think your right premium would give everything a little boost.
Thanks for the advice,

Jon
