98 z71 headlights

im having issues with my headlights. all i have is brights.
the bulbs are good. lol
i replaced the switch on the dash and that didn't help.

neone know what could cause this?

If no difference whether key is on or off, could be a bad DRL relay.
Try swapping it for another of same type. It's in conv. center.

Could also be a problem with the multi funtion switch. That has your turn signals, brights, windshield washers, and cruise control all in one. hopefully its what crab stated. CM65

Yeah, because that multifunction switch is an expensive little devil. I need one on my GMC, but I'll be darned if I'm gonna pay $250 for it.

If the guys who design 'em had to take one home, use it every day for 2 years, and do all the maint and repairs themselves, cars would have a button on the dash to change the oil, filters & plugs.

I went with the evil chioce because thats the route i had to take when i had this problem. Just wanted to give another option, albeit an exspensive one. Plus on airbag models like mine is its also a PITA job.CM65

Hey Bernie, who quoted you $250.00 for the switch? I bought mine from the Stealer about 3 yrs ago for Wait for it------- $385+tx. Live and learn! CM65

i was kinda thinking that switch also. someone told me that the tilt wheel causes rubing on a wire for my lights. neone else ever heard that b4?

Rock Auto, but mine is a 99 GMC without airbags.

My problem is with the wiper delay. Every now and then it goes bonkers, refusing to turn off, stopping and starting all over the windshield, washers stop working, etc. Then, a few minutes later it's like nothing happened. Checked the wiper motor and control board and it's all good, which leaves just the switch.

Possible, but I've never personally encountered it.
