Roof Question

I have a gun rack that I would like to hang on the Ceiling of my 2000 Chevy 1500. My question is, is the ceiling of it double walled or will it put a hole in my roof?

I am pretty sure the roof liner will not support the weight of a rife rack and the weight of the rifles on it. The only way would to bolt it to the actual metal of the top of the cab which would cause a hole. Could do it I would think if you seal it up around the holes and you don't mind the ugly holes on the top of the cab. That's my thinking.

Bad idea IMHO. You would probably be able to mount it to the ribs that support the roof, but think about what could happen if you hit a good sized bump, especially if you're tall like me. Or, what if you flip? (Had that happen to a neighbor just the other day, and I had to drag him out across the roof and through the passenger side window.

Yes in some places one can bolt something to it but you would have to remove the head liner to see where the spots are at. I know here in TEXAS one can have a rifle on a gun rack and it's legal but it has to be seen by the police or your in trouble. I carry a machete and my two sets of hammers which are my hands. LOL

Well you sound a lot like me I have a hachet and a collapsable shovel and a broken off hammer handle that I drill a hole down the middle and poured lead in it and my actual police collapsable night stick and my favorite a chain out of a Tcase(that was out off a Durango) welded to the track bar off of a Dodge truck cut down of course(I have such bad vocab on parts) under my front seat. Maybe I'll throw a pic up. Can you tell work was slow at my dealership.
