| Headers Hey folks, I'm new here! I'm about to pick up a '04 GMC Savana with the 6.0 engine. Does anybody make or know of a set of headers that'll fit? Thanks... |

| Oh lord !!! Headers on a Van??? Sounds so Groovy. I am with Mud, to mainain a van as it is, is a chore already, then to add headers which tend to go thru gaskets alot, heat up the plug wires and burn and break the lead cores, and also in the doghouse that is heat refelective to keep the heat away from the passenger compartment, is only going to create alot more heat in the engine compartment. I think I would avoid the headers if it were me.

| if you do get headers make sure they are ceramic coated so they help prevent heat. |

| Good point Smile. They actually do disipate the heat quicker, but still, in that small confined engine compartment, Yikes. I just think no matter what kind of header he'd use, its going to heat up that engine compartment even hotter, and then you start having problems with stuff getting brittle and breaking, like plastic retaines, wiring etc. Of course it would take a long time, I think I'd just avoid it. Or, I guess a guy could always use some kind of electric fan or duct to bring in cooler air or at least circulate the air in the engine compartment. Even then as Mud said, not much room to work on them. On my Ford E350 box van with a 460 stuffed in there, I have had a broken exhaust manifold bolt for about 4 years now. hahaha, and its gonna stay broke too until that motor has to come out. It happens to be the bolt that bolts to the dipstick tube to the block. Yeah.... one of Fords better ideas. So the dipstick tube would float around a bit until I clamped it to another bracket. Not leaking exhaust, so I am leaving it alone.

| I was also going to suggest cermanic coated headers but with the confined space like mention before may not be a good thought.

| yea just leave it be, i looked inside a chevy van before, kinda reminds me of a newer VW Bug that my neighbor has 1.8T. been running forever. just cant imagine tuning it since the compartment is so tiny. |
