| ^^^^Yep the only way to really tell is by the rpo codes because the 2500's that came with six lugs were considered "heavy duty 1/2 tons" but like i said in an earlier post if you have the rpo codes in the glove box i can look them up and tell you if it is HD or not |

| I don't know about that. I just know that when I was trying to find out if my 3500 was an HD or not the telling point was the I beam front axle... which wouldn't apply on a 4x4. I didn't have the I beam, so that made mine a standard 3500, but it's still 8 lug. I'm not even sure they made a 2500HD those years. It seems to me that the 2500HD didn't come out until '99 or later, but I could be wrong.

| Nope, I'm wrong... The K2500HD was available as early as 1989 from what I'm finding.

| OK I'm getting educated. Code sticker is still in the glovebox. Spotted L05 in the list which I recognize as the engine. There are about 4 dozen 3-character codes - any idea what I'm looking for" First character at least? JB |

| Okay... If it's got the HD chassis it'll have code F44 on the RPO sticker.

| Can you post all the codes? I'll look them up. Or, do a search for the tag "RPO" on here and you'll find a link to download the whole RPO code list from my server.

| Took another hard look and it's definitely FE9 FF6 FF7 F60 (don't know if the last character is an "O" or a zero), but it's not a "Q". I do have a D44. Where did you get your magic decoder ring anyway? Available on the 'net? JB |
