| 94 K2500 350 "heavy duty"? So I keep getting asked at the autoparts stores if my truck is a "heavy duty". Makes a difference on some engine parts. Bought it used off the side of the road years ago. Chilton sez HD 350 has 8.3:1 comp v. 9.1:1 for non-hd. GVWR on door sticker is 8600 lbs. Read another thread on this forum that outlined vehicle options available with HD but that doesn't help much. VIN is1GCGK24K5RE188398. No help in Chilton but keeps getting referred to and is driving me nuts. Not sure whats in the rig for rear or tranny. Any ideas? Tks |

| I'm not sure this applies to the 2500 series, but on the 3500's the sure way to tell the difference between the HD model and the standard model is the front axle. The HD uses a solid I beam front axle.

| Found the answer Just to close this loop - the HD has 8 lugnuts rather than 6. My truck IS the HD. JB |

| Nope, you can't go by that. My 3500 has 8 lugs too, and I know for a fact it's not the HD.
