| ignition wiring does anyone have or know what wire is for the key ignition. I want to disconnect that and put a switch instead of using the key. the wires coming out of the steering column look like they would go to the key ignition, but i need to know which one is hot and which one is for the trigger to the starter.

| Believe it is the purple unless you have a manual, then it would be yellow to clutch pedal. You may find it easier to modify, if you do your cut down by the bulkhead connector, and easier to undo too. Only need to cut one wire and install switch in that if all you want to do is make manual crank deal instead of the spring crank on key. Why are you doing this ? |

| people these days. i can hot wire that model chevy faster than any other truck out there. they make everything so readily available to you. i started one with a single screwdriver one time. actually takes me longer to get into the truck than it does for me to get it going. |
