TBI = Throttle Body Injection. Simpler of several kinds of fuel injected types.

You should listen when these other guys pipe up, they'r seriously smarter than me.
While you are following up on Bernie's first suggestion,
might want to also check wires have not been trapped/pinched under air cleaner.

Really and truly do not confuse little green boxes with brain cells.
There are highly experienced pro mechs here that have less than half .
There's a couple that I would take their "hunch" over anything I "knew"
And I aint saying who because we don't do egos here.

Start with codes and other things listed by folks above and let us know about it.

while guys i don't think the testing will work now that ive pulled the tbi, sense i have a leaking fuel line, do to a hack job on a transmission replacement.. not me the O G owner! i Do Need To Replace the injector, i think, because they tick and i smiled fuel. also i need to get the gaskets and spacers and i'm sure more. but is there and easy/better way? a new system or band that i should get or look for? been directed to summit and Jegs.... what should i do?

also the light didn't stay on the SES light. it would go off it's self. could this be do to the fuel issues i have know? should i try reconnecting the TBI system without the Gaskets and spacers and try the test?

i just rebuilt my throttle body paid about $30 for the entire kit and spent about 2 1/2 hours cleaning and repacling parts (note) when you go to buy one make sure the diaphram is in the kit that is the fuel pressure regulator those go bad an leak and mess up the whole system. it **** near doubbled my gas mileage when i was done i was quite pleased with my truck after that until one of the cam lobes went flat but thats another story. O'reilly's advanced auto parts all carry the kit dont know about the parts house's in your area but they should have it, if you need help with the rebuild let me know

Some codes keep lite on forever, some flash lite a while then just stay in memory.

how do i determine what code it is? ..... two flashes pause 3 flashes... code 23??? is that how it works>?

exactly how it works.
23 Inlet air temperature sensor signal showed an air temperature below -22� F after the engine has been running for 5 minutes.
