| K1500 Problems i wasnt looking 4 got a K1500 from Ga. 2 Months ago. had to replace a fuel pump in a shell parking lot on the way home,(VT.), on the way the "check engine" light would come on after driving 10 mins hot or not. i was also hearing a ticking noise from the dash/firewall, not sure what it was, i didn't check it just wanted to get home... i was in D.C.! after getting home i listened to the sound some more thought it was the rotor, cause it was ticking with the RPM, but i openned the bereather and felt the "injectors?",(not familiar with this carb/System), and it the vibration was going with the tick. almost felt like i was shocked when i first touched it.. (like i pulled the coilll wire while it was still running) do i need to replace the fuel jets things, and what brand should i look for, if so? also whats a poll? i'm a first timer! my first thread to ya'll. and i'll probably be answering the same question for someone else oneday |

| If I had to take a guess, and a guess is what it has to be for now, I'd say you have some bad plug wires in there, and one of them is arcing to the block or TB. Easiest way to confirm this is run it in the dark and look for the flicker of the arc. And heck, you drove right past my house on your way home and didn't even wave.

| Welcome to the forum lemontor. It's a 1993 chev k1500 -guessing basic silvy 4wd. Hence, he's about to get familiar with TBI's. Likely a 5.7/350. How's my guessing ? Hmmm, now what color is it ? Feels like blue, but that could be the owner holding his breath. Also since this is an ODB-I he can easily see what the cause of the SES light was, aka pull codes. |
