| I'm getting frustrated, it slipped on me again yesterday morning just as I was leaving the house. Why does it only do this when it's cold??!! |

| Yep, you can leave the magent til next service. Only thing is, now you can not guage your wear from this service to the next one is all. Of course you have a general idea what it looked like this time. Post of mental picture in your head of what it looked like this time and compare it what it looks like next service. Oh, and do keep the magnet in its original location, and do not get a bright idea to add more magnets as some people do. If you do, that is fine, but make sure its in a good location. You put that magnet in the wrong location, no more werky for the transmission since the magnet can and will make your solenoids fail.

| Why did I not see this post til after I posted mine??? hmmm. It could be that you have a valve hanging up or a passage blockage from doing the service. May have had a piece of junk in the trans somewhere that when you drained the fluid, it moved to a position where it could get wedged. As trans fluid gets warmer and thinner, its able to move around the junk, or move the junk. Its uncommon but does and can happen. This is a situation where if you know its slipping, just do not let it slip very long or hard. Just be gentle on the trans when its cold. You will be suprised, the problem may very well go away on its own in a few days, but don't do damage to your trans in the meantime. Also, if its slipping in 1st as you take off in OD. Try putting it in Manual 1st and shift to manual 2nd and so forth until the trans is warm. That may avoid the slip all together since manual 1st, and in OD 1st are routed differantly. This also will give the fluid a chance to fill differant passages in the valve body, burp any air that may be in the valve body, or back flush that piece of junk out of its location and get it into the pan and into the filter, and solve your problem.

| Thanks hotrod! This morning it just delayed and didnt want to go into 2nd, but as it warmed up it was great!? Yesterdays slip was the hardest and my fault for not taking off slowly. It caused it to stall. |

Yeah, you'll have fun getting to act like a 16yo driving a stick shift with an automatic. Give that a try, and give it a few days. The issue may very well fix itself. You knows Chevrolet's are known for that anyway? Fixing themselves, when and if they ever do breakdown. ![]()
