Rear End Noise----HELP

i have a 1997 silverado 1500 2wd with a 5.7 vortec with 135,000. Recently i have been hearing a "clunking" noise coming from the rear end right before i come to a stop at about 10-15 mph. I do not feel the clunk i only hear it. The truck shifts fine and stops fine. i have installed new U-joints, the carrier bearing looks good and i have redone the front and rear brakes. Nothing in the rear end seams to be loose suspension wise. I have checked the rear diff fluid it is full. the guy i work with says what i am hearing is gear lash......anyone have any suggestions the noise is going to drive me crazy.

Try greasing the splines on your drive shaft yolk, GM had a TSB out on that problem

i have done that but it did not do anything to help the problem....i just bought the truck in feb. so GMC have a recall on that???

i would gather tsb is techniacal service bulletin?

yes it is, look it up it will tell the remedy for your problem.

where do i need to look for the tsb, i cant seem to find what i am looking for

im still stuck on what can be causing this noise it is driving me nuts

hang tight, some one else will be along later with other ideas on would could be causing it.
