Question tsb's......where to find them

does anyone know where i can find the tsb's for my 1997 c1500? without having to pay for them?

im looking for what is causing the clunking noise right before i come to a stop i have re done all the brakes new u joints, greased the yoke splines the support bearing looks good nothing is loose in the rear end as far as suspension goes....im just trying to figure out the noise.

You could try having someone ride in the bed and isolate exactly where the noise is coming from (ie: left, right, center, etc.)

If the guys who design 'em had to take one home, use it every day for 2 years, and do all the maint and repairs themselves, cars would have a button on the dash to change the oil, filters & plugs.

Also, upper steering shafts on a lot of GM trucks are notorious for making clunking sounds. Mostly you feel it through the wheel, but the sound can seem like it comes from somewhere else.

LMC sells two different replacements, one OEM for about $80 and one HD for about $350 They only go back to '99 though, but might still fit a '97. It's something to check at least.

theres a heat shield underneath on my 96 that is lose and does exactly what you are speaking of
