'cruise' issues

'02 chev 1500, had cruise problem due to brake sw... ok after r/r (for a year) now problem is back...if you touch brake with cruise on, cruies does not work til you stop/start truck... if you turn cruise off before touching brake, you can turn back on and will work...now the strange part... to t/s this i disconnected the trailer brake control under the dash (six pin GM pigtail) now cruies wont work at all ???... plug it back in and your back to the original poblem which i belive is a bad brake sw again... but what is causing the sw to repeat fail and why does unpluging trailer brake pigtail have an affect ?? ... the cruise worked before the trailer brake was added, should work if its unpluged...
