peterbilt is a jewel in the roughpeterbilt is a jewel in the roughpeterbilt is a jewel in the rough
well, im not sure how that looks, but i know this has a rochester 4 barrel carb on it, and i know that it needs rebuild. i also know that this truck has sat for at least 6 years if not more, and it has wire damage because of all the rats nests and cats that lived inside the engine compartment, when we popped the hood (before i was interested in it) it stunk so bad i almost passed out. the bed was full of newspapers that were soaked and a ratlle snake lived underneath them all, we found him when we were shoveling out the newspapers from the bed. the only rust on the truck is on the hood and on the rear top side of the cab above the back window, which is minimal as it is only surface rust and can be sanded down and repainted. it really is a diamond in the roguh, my frends think its a piece of **** and i know its a work in progress, i try to see the best in trucks. sometimes they work out, other times they dont. but i live and i learn something new everyday, and my knowledge of vehicles is growing, im not a car genius when i pop the hood to a car, and look at the engine, but i have built 3 engines in my lifetime from the block up, a ford 302 v8, a honda 1.8 inline 4 sohc, and currently a 2005 mercedes 5.5 v8 engine which i am almost finished with. i found a decent 350 motor with trans for 600 bucks locally so if this engine in the c10 is gone, i will pick up a new one since they are so easy to find and relatively cheap. but heres a hint of my dreams...

i know i will never get that, but i would love to see that number under the hood of my c10, 572 unleases the power of a c10 but i really love the 350 since its so easy. someday my dreams might come true, but im not forking over the 10k plus for that engine, **** no.

I am not saying you are wrong PB. Just saying originally the truck more than likely had TBI. Very possible someone has converted it. You mentinoned you have wiring issues? So if you want to go non TBI, which seems you do if you want that carbed 572, then be sure to get wiring for 86 or older. Preferably older, cuz even the 86 half tons were computer controlled. You may need to go back as far as 83 to get a basic standard dizzy and carb harness. You're firends thinks its a POS? Its OK, I have the same problem you do. You seen the heap of junk but you saw that pic of the nice truck. I do the same. Look at the junk I have bought. There are pics in my albums. But also look at the price I paid. Basically for FREE, $100 or $200. I have sold enough parts off the trucks to make all my money back then some. 2 of the 6 are drivers, not counting the box van. My intent is to have 3 nice good running restored or semi restored trucks. Someday when money permits. Then it will be done the way I want it, at my leiusre, not someone elses. However you do crack me up. The first guy I know that just loves a bench seat as much as you do. Most guys your age want buckets for sure.

no way, i love bench seats, always have and always will, they are more cozy for me, exspecially when i can sit my girl by my side when i drive her home everyday. she likes to be close but when you got buckets, you can only hold hands with her, and the split bench sucks cuz the middle part is so hard she dont want to sit there. i was also raised on a farm, and my grandpa had a 84 cheynne, full bench seat, thistruck brought back memories of me riding on the dashboard laying down, lol, ive seen pics of me when i was like 3 starring out the window with my face pressed against the glass of the windshield, and his had a bench seat too. i want to make a truck i will love, and i love bench seats and cb radios, every truck i will ever have will have a cb radio. when i got my little ranger, it turned into a money pit, started with the oil pump, pulled the motor just to get the oil pan off, then i found out all my tie rod ends are bad, the rack and pinion is bad, the engine siezed up, the shocks are bad, the head gaskets are bad, the water pump s shot, etc. its my nightmare and i refuse to work on it. my dad bought it for my first truck. the only thing i bought for it was some floor mats, which will be going in the chevy. i also got some fabric i want to do a camo healiner and get a saddleblacnket bench seat cover.

Sadly enough, Enjoy all that part while you can. Trust me, that all changes and goes away.

Oh, it'll last a little longer than getting out of highschool. Hopefully your girl will be around for a long time and she's a good cook. Sounds like someeone needs to put groceries down you.

lmao, you'd be surprised at how much i do eat. and i eat alot, believe me, shes so good to me now. i dont ever ask her for anything but somehow she knows just what i want by the look on my face, and vis versa. i tell her i love her and she gives me a big ole kiss, and when i get her flowers, she smiles at me. i stare into her eyes and she stares into mine, and i dont stop until she looks away, we go together, like forrest gump says, "we are just like peas and carrots." lol, and i think we will be together a long time, but only time will tell, and all the nights im going to spend with her in the seat of my c10, we can make memories that last a lifetime. we have been seeing each other for about a year and a half but we have only been "dating" for a short time. i cant wait to get this c10 up and running, i think it will be a great memory maker for me and for her.

It's has a TBI and I would leave it that way rebuilt it or find a used one on Ebay I found cheap there but im going to mess with it. This guy has one down the street it's like yours but it's two tone with white in the middle and top oh it also has nice rally wheels im just waiting for him to let me know ok it's yours for next to nothing. Thinking about it you might think it's carbed because of the air cleaner and it's a Rochester my TBI is the brand. Look at this bad boy catch some air.

Nice to see he can hook that thing up that good. I here you can get these 73-87 to hook up pretty good without alot of modifications. Not sure what all this guy did to his rear suspension or rear end, but he obviously hooked right up.
