| 02 S10 on E85? Hey, I was curious if I could run my 2002 S10 ZR2 on E85 without any modifications. (Safely) OR, if I do need to modify it, what do I need? Thanks guys!

| no. E85 will eat up the normal rubber hoses and gaskets that are installed on gasoline powered vehicles. any particular reason why you are wanting to run e85?? |

some of them (4cyl) were designed as multi-fuel and will run e-85, I would run the vin at the dealer and ask if the build sheet does not indicate it.

on a 2005 or 6 model, i might agree with but doubt they would have done that on an 02 model. | |

| Again though, why would you want to? The cost-benefit ratio on it just doesn't work out. E85 might be cheaper, but not cheap enough to really make up for the difference in mileage and possible adverse effects on parts that aren't rated for E85.

| Cheaper, Where? All the E-85 I have seen down here is 10 cents a gallon more than reg. Definitly doesn't make sense to use it unless your suppoting a farmer.

| I was hoping it did, but I heard that you get better mlg out of it? I drive about 70 miles a day one way to work. Just looking to save money over the long hual, but it deffinatley isn't worth eating up my fuel lines. Thanks for the input guys.

| No, not better mileage... worse. If you look at the government site (can't think of the URL right now) for fuel economy data it shows that most Flex Fuel vehicles running E85 are getting only about 3/4 the mileage they would normally get on gasoline.

| wow, soo....wtf is the point of E85 if it cost about 10cents more a gallon and you get less mpg. It still uses patroleum, so we're not clearing ourselves from the middle east. Anways, thanks for the input guys.
