Programer purchase.

I was wondering if anyone would happen to have any advice on a programer for my truck. I have a 04 V8 Silverado Z71 with a six 6" lift and 35" tires. Im just looking for something that might help with mpg and maybe a little more pwr when I need it. Thanks.

what kind of budget have yuo set aside for this?? there are several out there to choose from and the higher the budget, the more performance you can buy.

I agree with Brad. I have heard good things about bully dog if you want to know a brand name.

I have an 02 5.3 and I would GREATLY appreciate if you could post a link, PM me a link, or shoot something to Brad to post in the reference thread on Bully Dogs and their programming.

I don't know if it's a simple request or not. I don't want to drop $400 on one and not know the first thing to do. It doesn't have to run the whole spectrum like the owner/operator manual just some layman's examples on say how to program the "performance" phase.

I know it says "user friendly" but I have seen other things "user friendly" that were challenging even though they were in my comfort zone but couldn't see a novice having a clue.

Thanks.

I was also thinking about you getting it geared correct for your HP and gas mileage if it hasn't been done already.

Well thats the great thing about it. theres not a need for a huge manual to know how to work it. All you have to do is remove a few fuses(the first time you install it and then you put them back in) and then answer a few questions that come up on the screen about the options you want. If you're still worried, find a local dealer and go to their shop to buy it and they can help you out the first time you install it.

Cool Thanks.

It's just one of those things that I think I can pretty much figure things out and then BAM my ego over compensates.

Installation I figured was easy but if programming shift points, max HP etc are easy even better.
