| 4x4 help! 1994 S10 Blazer. 4.3 Vortec. I got this thing back out of the shop so its time to fix some more ****. My question- I push the 4x4 button, I hear something kinda wind up, then it clicks. I cannot turn the front driveshaft by hand, so I thought it was working, but it isnt. I stopped today in the dirt and hit the gas in 2x4, and the rear tires spun. Then i stopped, put it in park, pushed the 4x4 button, put in in drive, punched it, and the rear tires still bogged down in the dirt, thefront tires werent trying at all. SO what the heck do I have to look at now?Like I said, the driveshaft is locking up, but it doesnt seem like the 4x4 actually is.Thanks guys! |

| Disconnect the driveshaft and see which end is locking in. Either the actuator for the transfer case isnt working, Or the one on the front differential.

| They make a cable drive system to replace the actuator.

| Ok, now where the heck is the actuator!?I cant find it. All i see right now is a little thing on the pass. side of the front diff. that has 3 bolts, and a cable or something going into it. |
