Unhappy Rotors to hot to touch 2003 chevy 2500hd

I have replaced rear rotors calipers and brake pads on my 2003 chevy 2500hd....and it still is heating up too hot to touch,
Truck started to jump when braking so these changes have been made.
Can anyone tell me what would be the cause of them to heat up to the point of catching on fire....that was the first time.

Sounds like the calipers are still dragging did you clean and anti-seize the slider bolts when you replaced the calipers?

Is the parking brake cable hanging up? Since it's only the rears this is happening to, my initial thought was "parking brake problem". Make sure the cable releases fully, and that the pedal comes all the way back up when released.

Thanks.

It may not be the problem, but since this seems isolated to the rear brakes only it's a logical thing to check.

I'm with Bernie that is what I would check first along with the sliding pins/bolts. If the problem still persists you might have a faulty proportioning valve.

the brake hose that goes from the frame to the axle is probably bad. thats my guess.

flush the brake fluid, it may be getting thick!

My Brother had the same problem. It was the rubber brake line coming off the caliper. Even though it looked excellent on the outside, the rubber on the inside had swelled and wouldn't allow fluid to return.
