Power steering pump on a '92 K1500

I'm pulling the heads on my '92 K1500. It has a 5.7L. I did a little searching on the Internet, and it looks like I need a puller to get the pully off before I can remove the pump. Can anyone recommend a decent one that is inexpensive, but will not break on the first try? I'm not a mechanic. I just need something I can use the get the pulley off and back on my truck.

Thanks,
Daris

just unbolt the bracket from the engine that holds the pump on. no need to remove the pulley.

My truck has a big aluminum bracket bolted to the block and the head. The p/s pump appears to be bolted to that. There is another bracket that attaches to the back of the p/s pump and over the front to exhaust manifold bolts. One of the bolts for the big aluminum bracket is behind the p/s pump. I don't have the manual yet, but I don't see any way of getting the big aluminum bracket off without removing the pump.

I picked up a pully puller set at Harbor Freight yesterday on my lunch. I used the 20% off coupon in one of my motorcycle magazines. (That is the hot ticket, HF has been putting 20% coupons in Rider and RoadBike magazines for the past several months). I pulled the pully off the pump last night and found three bolts under it. Once I removed the pump and the steel bracket attached to the back of it, I was able to get to the front exhaust port bolts. The next job is to get the heads off. Thanks guys!
