Transfer case drain plug socket size?

Does anyone happen to know what size socket fits the drain and fill plugs on the transfer case on a '91 K1500 with the 4L60 transmission?

It looks to be about 1 and 1/8 inches but might it be metric? Just trying to make only 1 trip to the tool store to buy a socket for it.

    Thanks!

Actually I did try that however the plugs are in really tight and my wrench was about to slip and round off the corners.....was thinking a socket would be better to use.
