    Trying to install Keyless Entry on a 94' K1500 HELP

    I cannot for the life of me get this friggen thing to work, I got the remote start put in and now I am trying to get the keyless entry to work, the unit I have is a Negative pulse so I went out and got 2 relays and wired them in per the instructions but I am missing something or doing something wrong cause I cannot get it to work, anyone put one in and know what wire they tapped into? The relays are clicking when I hit the fob but no matter what wire I tapp into on the door switch it will not engage the lock/unlock it!!!
    DD -1994 Z71 350 TBI, Blue and White. GM crate motor with 43k miles, drivetrain has 204k miles.

    Any chance of posting the wiring diagram for that kit ?
    The lock motors are the reversible polarity kind
    meaning changing which wire is hot operates lock.
    All wires on both switches are normally grounded,
    except the always hot(Org/Blk) from circuit breaker.

    Tapping into just one wire will not do it.
    Relay must BREAK the default ground connection and suppy a hot.

    I would expect cutting the LtBlue wire at driver switch
    and connecting switch wire to #87A on relay (default pin)
    then connecting other cut end of LtBlue to #30 on relay,
    and running a wire from #87 on relay to hot by splicing,
    would do it for unlock.

    For Lock, the second relay would use same idea.
    Cutting the Blk/Red wire at driver switch
    and connecting switch wire to #87A on relay (default pin)
    then connecting other cut end of Blk/Red to #30 on relay,
    and running a wire from #87 on relay to hot by splicing,

    Just tapping into wires may leave you with overheated motors
    on locks which have their own CBs and will shut down until cool.

    Believe this is what you need.

    That is a great diagram, so for the 4th pin on the relay (dont have the number but I do have a 5 pin relay) I would run that wire into the keyless entry box correct? The wire coming from the keyless entry supplies a ground only when the lock/unlock button is pressed. I will try this tomorrow, hopefully it works. Thanks.

    Word of caution on *5 pin relays* - not all same.
    A basic relay use 2 pins to control and
    2 pins are what's being connected/disconnected.
    On some the 5th pin is merely for wiring convience
    so that you can easily hook up two things (ie:L/R lamps)
    On a true 5 pin, your kind, the fifth pin allows output choice.
    #30 is on all relays and #87 is actived output.
    #87A is used as the non-activated connection to #30.
    In other words, when you do nothing #30 connects to #87A,
    and when you say go #30 connects to #87 instead.

    I showed the 3 pins for the load or controlled side of relay.
    There are of course 2 more pins to activate relay.
    A hot #86 and a ground #85, aka coil wires.
    Relay does not care whether you unplug 85 or 86 to op.

    In your case, if remote kit is sending a ground or not
    as method of control of relay/locks,
    then you can splice #86 (hot/batt) to Org as well.
    #85 (Gnd) would go to remote kit's control wire.

    That make sense or want another pic ?

    Another pic would be great, here is the wiring diagram, its the middle right pic for the correct diagram if its reverse pol., sorry its small you will have to zoom in. According to the relay box the 87A is the same as 87 as far as output. Thinking about it now I dont remember hooking 87A up to the correct wire as shown in the pic below on the truck but I could be wrong, I did try about 10 different combinations.

    I can not read the labels in your pic even with zoom
    fuzzing out on me, this time it's not my eyes LOL

    The MOTORS are the reversing polarity kind
    but the SWITCHING is done with a positive pulse.
    Remember all switch ouputs are to ground
    until the switch changes one to a hot.
    Not sure I would use the names they do,
    so I'm going with the actual wiring.

    This is based on you telling me the kit supplies
    a ground connection when the fob is clicked.

    when i did my old blazer, it needed resistors for the remote entry to work........ just a thought.
