1997 4x4 Actuator Service

My Son Has A 1997 Chev 3/4 4x4 With Lever On Floor. 4x4 Blows Fuses Wethink It Is Actuator On Front Axle. How Does That Come Out To Check And Replace.

97 Actuator

All the actuators screw out. You'll have to unplug it, but it should loosen with a large cresent or channel locks and come out.

I agree 1 connector with 2 wires and it screws out kinda hard. If it is the old metal style actuator alot of them went bad and needs to be replaced and rewired with the new plastic electric design. To check it just unplug the connector and run a test light between the 2 terminals and with key on shifted into 4x4 light should come on.
