| S-10 souping, gear ratios, exhaust? Hi, I'm the owner of a '98 S-10 single cab, Inline 4 (Yeah, joke of a truck, right?), I was wondering what negative affects would happen if I adjusted my gear ratio for better acceleration as far as gas mileage goes, and will getting a new exhaust system and nice air filter give me much more power? Thanks! Sorry I'm such a n00b :-P |

| haha well 1st off its a 4bang.. ur not gonna get much out of it. But if ur so desperate.. change the ring and pinion gears.. I donno what they make 4 the S-10 but 4 the 1500s they make a 4.11 posi. Go with a flowmaster if ur so desperate for a muffler..I cant promise how intimidating its gonna sound but I guess its worth a shot if ur willing to shell out some cash haha. But with the gears it does take up more gas but be realistic..the thing gets 30mpg so go nuts haha
