2005 chevy truck mileage

I am looking to buy a new Chevy 1500HD, 6.0 liter, crew cab, 4X4. Can anybody give me an estimate of the difference in gas mileage between the 3.73 axle model and one with a 4.10 axle? I would like to have the extra torque for pulling a trailer but don't want to have to live terrible mileage for non-towing use.

get the duramax your milage will be great and you will have alot of toruqe my dad bought one and he loves it. he got it with the 4.10 and hes getting 15 miles to the gallon in town

I just sold a 02 2500hd that I bought new. It had a 6L with 410 gears I liked it for pulling sleds and toy hauler. but I got 13-14 mpg empty and 9 pulling. My friends have ford's and dodge's witch did well also. but the chevy had the best ride. I realy did like the tk. I bought a durmax now and we'll see how that goes.

i have a 05 gmc 1500hd with the 3.73 rear end 2wd. i'm geting about 14 in town and 16 on highway @ 85 mph average speed without towing.
